The purpose of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) personality inventory is to make the theory of psychological types described by C. G. Jung understandable and relevant to people’s lives.
The assessment identifies 16 different personality ‘Types’ and is aimed at helping an individual determine which ‘Type’ best describes their own preferred approaches to life. From understanding these, we are better able to understand those of others, for example in relation to communication and decision-making. Teams where there is awareness, understanding and acceptance of difference, are likely to be more cohesive and function more effectively. A leader with high self-awareness and a well developed understanding of the diversity of others, is likely to lead more effectively.

- Provides information which can help us develop our less preferred ‘styles’; be more flexible in our approaches and work more effectively with others
- Provides theories on personal development and growth throughout a lifetime
